HomeNow helps Billings family purchase a home that fits their needs

After renting the same Billings residence for 12 years, Joseph Schelgel, and his wife Katie Joy (who joined him at the residence 5.5 years ago) had paid off all their debt, and decided it was time to invest in themselves. They took a first-time homebuyers class and learned about HomeNow, our down payment assistance program that helps mortgage-worthy buyers overcome the challenge of having the cash on hand for a down payment. Realtor, Chet Blotske, at Re/Max of Billings worked with the Schlegels to find a home that fit their needs, and Yellowstone Bank loan officer, Pam Ivanoff, helped them get approved for a mortgage and access their HomeNow down payment grant funds. Today the Schlegels are raising their twin daughters in a home of their own.

“HomeNow’s  assistance made our mortgage more affordable and allowed us to free up cash to make necessary home improvements once we moved in,” said Katie Joy. ” It also gave us an opportunity to purchase a home at a higher price point, allowing us to get a more move in ready home that fit our families needs and wants better. We are so excited to be homeowners!”
